Spending his early years under such design greats as Robert Trent Jones Sr. and George Fazzio, Jay was involved with the design of every Jack Nicklaus golf course built from 1972 thru 1982. As a partner to Tom Weiskopf, Jay designed such acclaimed courses as Loch Lomond in Scotland, Forest Highlands in Flagstaff, Arizona, Troon and Troon North in Scottsdale, Arizona, and Double Eagle in Columbus, Ohio. After forming his own company, Jay continued to work on the design and construction of additional world-class golf courses including The Golf Club Scottsdale-Scottsdale's most exclusive private club, The Reserve in Palm Springs, and Las Colinas in Irving, Texas-home of the Byron Nelson Golf Classic. Though he is the master-mind behind many courses, Jay Morrish still says of Tehama: "It is one of the most distinctive golf courses ever created."
