Greens
The greens were constructed using USGA green construction specifications. The greens were seeded in 1997 with A-4 creeping bentgrass. This variety of bentgrass was chosen for its fine leaf texture which provides superior putting surface quality. Another important consideration was A-4 bentgrasses resistance to poa annua invasion. This is a very important characteristic due to our cool, coastal climate.
Tees
The tees consist of a mix of colonial bentgrass, dominant creeping bentgrass, perennial ryegrass, and poa annua. The tees are mowed at a cutting height of 1/4”.
Fairways
The fairways are a mix of perennial rye grass, colonial bentgrass, and poa annua. The fairways are mowed at a cutting height of 3/8”.
Native Grasses
The roughs are a mix of perennial ryegrass, kentucky blue grass, and poa annua. Roughs are mowed at 1/1/4”.
